When this feature is enabled, users can delete episodes from gPodder by deleting them from their media player and then performing a sync with gPodder. gPodder uses the m3u playlist to track what episodes were synchronised to the device.
With this feature enabled, if you deleted episodes from your device and then synchronise again, gPodder will present you with a list of deleted episodes. You can choose which of these episodes you wish to delete - all, none or some. See the example below:
Arbitrary complex python expressions (surround them with parenthesis) can also be used, following the Adjectives (downloaded) and Nouns ('hello' in description) vocabularydefined in query.py.
You can use a HTTP proxy server for downloading episodes and feeds. Newer versions of gPodder do not provide a way to do so in the GUI, but respect the environment variable http_proxy. How to set the http_proxy environment variable in different operating systems is described here:
You can determine who is using resources on your local computer with the"net" command ("net session"), however, there is no built-in way todetermine who is using the resources of a remote computer. In addition,NT comes with no tools to see who is logged onto a computer, eitherlocally or remotely. PsLoggedOn is an applet that displays both thelocally logged on users and users logged on via resources for either thelocal computer, or a remote one. If you specify a user name instead of acomputer, PsLoggedOn searches the computers in the networkneighborhood and tells you if the user is currently logged on.
Poorly named files, missing subtitles, episode names, and incomplete information are common problems for people while watching a movie or TV show. FileBot is a utility app that can automate the task of organizing and renaming media files. The app has two panels.
The app will try to match your files with data from various online databases automatically. They include The TVDB, AnDB, TheMovieDB, and TVmaze. Once you verify the information, click Rename.
If your desktop and download folder always get cluttered, this utility app will help you end the chaos of unorganized files with a simple click. The app organizes large file collections by re-arranging items according to kind, extension, size, or date.
AniArena screams anime with its background of colorful Japanese cartoon characters. It is a torrent tracker site that attracts fans around the world. You can start downloading without signing up for an account.
Most anime series and films we can stream and download from the Internet are subbed or dubbed but sometimes people are looking forward to some raw content without any alteration, for certain usages. Therefore, this post rounds up 7 websites to search for and download raw anime videos.
To download raw anime, the best solution is using torrents. A few torrents websites have raw anime and MKV anime episodes with soft subtitles that can be disabled easily. So the following introduces such 7 torrent websites for you. Nyaa is a promised land for anime lovers to download anime ranging from big names to niche titles, old series to the latest releases of 2022, in various genres. Featured as one of the largest anime torrent indexes in the world, Nyaa gets over one million traffics per day. Update of new torrents is also exceptionally frequent. You will always find what you want on this website.
It adopts a fresh interface integrated with easy navigation and fast response. Anirena sorts torrents into multiple classifications. As for raw anime, you can click into the Raw section to choose from thousands of episodes. It is a pretty good resource for raw anime.
Anidex is another devoted Japanese media tracker for anime, live action, manga, music, application, games, etc. Different from the websites introduced above, Anidex has a large catalog of subbed anime series and films in MKV format, instead of raw anime torrents. So if you only want to watch anime without subtitles, there are plenty of anime episodes for selection on Anidex.
The name brands became dominant and made up most of what people bought at grocery stores in North America. To fill out the store shelves, supermarkets would make their own store brand products too. Usually, these looked similar to the big brands, but with the name of the supermarket slapped on the side of the box.
Store brands were most popular with people who wanted a low budget alternative to the name brand stuff, says Stephen Hoch an emeritus marketing professor at the Wharton School of Business. Store brands only made up 13% of the inventory being sold in grocery stores by 1970. But they received a boost during the next decade.
Where does the new Podcast APP on MacOS (NOT iOS) store the downloaded podcast files? I have moved my Music libraries to a larger external drive and Podcast keeps asking me for locations of the unwatched but downloaded files in my list. I always have to manually locate them, even after watching them partway (the "locate" button doesn't find them). I would love to just move my files to the right folder where Podcast can find them rather than re-downloading all the ones I haven't watched/listened to yet. I even let a new one download and did a file search on the episode name and nothing came up. The old iTunes podcast saved the episodes with the file names intact, I guess the Podcast app doesn't. Will I have to download all those unwatched files again?
I ended up re-downloading all unplayed episodes AFTER un-subscribing and re-subscribing to the podcast. The files are not movable currently for Podcast as they are for Music, which can be pointed through Settings>Advanced to another folder. No option currently exist for that in Podcast.
However, Moth tickets are transferable to friends! You are welcome to pass them along to a friend even though your name is associated with the tickets. Just ask your friends to give your name when they present their tickets.
While only the newest episode are relevant for some categories of podcasts, it is also very common with feeds where one wants to listen to more. Possibly to every episode from the start. Even if not intending to hear every episode, one might want to explicitly make those decisions. (I realize this change interfere with the episode auto-download feature, which I would assume is disabled by many users? Maybe what is presented as NEW to the user should e.g. actually be represented by two states in the database?)
My view is that Played / Unplayed and New / Not New are two different attributes and should be filtered as such. This is based on my use case of having a number of podcasts with a large backlog of unplayed episodes which I do not want listed as New.
@Matth78 It seems the only difference between your and my use is that you seem to have your subscription counter set to unplayed rather than new episodes. Would adding a new and queued setting for the subscription counter, in combination with my three other suggestions, perhaps work just as well as adding a separate ignored state for you? When adding old unheard material to the queue, given that filters and views make it easier to find desired information, does it really make a difference to know whether an episode was previously rejected explicitly or just undecidedly skipped?
@Matth78 I have no problem with using mark as played as a way of ignoring episodes that I do not intend to listen to. That is for newly dropped episodes. For the backlog episodes I have no problem in leaving them as unplayed until and when they pop up as the next old one to listen to and at that point either play them or mark them as played. If someone or something prompts me to revisit any episode whether already played or marked as played I can always find it again.
No. And this is in line with the current proposal: when played the episode status changes to played, regardless its previous state (meaning you indeed loose the info that you mention is not important).
My suggestion is to add filterability on new and the possibility to mark episodes as new. My claim is that it could mostly fill the same need as adding an ignored state, but realize that some people might wish to differentiate between unseen and undecided. Fixing the handling of new does not conflict with adding additional states, but it makes it possible for users to differentiate between played and ignored with less complexity (although requiring some discipline).
I wonder if what make this things hard for everybody to agree is because what people do with new episodes. If your new episodes are your waiting list to listen then I can understand there is no need for ignored. (I think @cos is how you see it)But if you consider your new episodes as a list to review and clean for what has just been released then an ignore state is needed because after reviewing your new episodes list is empty. (This is how I see it)
On Feed Addition the user currently has no control to place episodes new to the listener as new to AntennaPod. One single episode pass through F2I into the Inbox, all else forcefully goes through F2N to Not played. I realize increased ability for placing episodes in the Inbox would also require fixing automatic download of episodes, but reworking that is another ongoing other thread. I, who do not use automatic episode downloads, have manually placed new episodes into the Inbox ever since folders were introduced through modifying the database with some SQL. That has been fully successful and an improvement for my usage, even considering the hassle of manually exporting and re-importing the database whenever adding a feed. 2ff7e9595c
